I don't understand why people say the 'A' stands for asexual and aromantic. Like isn't it just asexual? No one says the 'B' stands for bisexual and biromantic, it's just bisexual. So why are asexual and aromantic lumped together? There's nothing whatever-romantic in the acronym at all. It's just lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and asexual. People under different romantic spectrum's are included in that group, but they aren't in the name itself, so why do people say that?

Because representation? And because any umbrella term should include all marginalised identities and/or alignments, so really it should all be included, which is why a lot of people don’t like ‘LGBTA’ as an acronym. Even LGBTQIA+ has its faults because it’s reducing a lot of people to a ‘+’. That’s why I like MOGAI, because it includes all marginalised identities and/or alignments.
